The Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) is an organisation interested in the promotion and protection of breast feeding.  The ABA's members include breastfeeding mothers, doctors, lactation consultants and midwives.  The ABA is recognised as a source of up to date information for parents and health professionals alike.

The most common childhood disease is dental cavities - easily preventable.  The Australian Dental Association (ADA) is an organisation that encourages the health of the public whilst promoting dentistry.  Information on this web site relates to appropriate dental health and practices for young children.

The BBC website includes nutrition information on a number of areas including throughout the lifecycle, disease prevention and general healthy nutrition.  Be aware that as this is a UK site, some of the information is not applicable for Australian children.

The CDC website contains information on a vast number of topics including many aspects of children's health.  Be aware that some information is not relevant to Australian Children.  The CDC growth charts are also available to download from this site.

The Dietitian's Association of Australia (DAA) is a professional member organisation and the largest nutrition focused organisation in the country.  The DAA has over 2000 members, the majority of whom are Accredited Practising Dietitians (APD's).  APD's make a commitment to keep up-to-date and to maintaining high practice standards.  The DAA website has information on finding a private practice Dietitian.

Filling the Gaps (FTG) is an early childhood nutrition and physical activity/active play program developing information and resources targeting children aged 0-12 years for young families and health professionals.  FTG also provides expertise on child nutrition and physical activity to Kids - ‘Go for your Life!' and the Victorian Government.
