The targeted nursing specialties are:
AWARD: Scholarships will be made available for an amount of up
to $3,000 as a contribution towards course fees.
DURATION: Scholarship funding is granted for a 12 month period
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be an Australian citizen or
permanent resident of Australia; provide evidence of current Nurses
Board of Victoria registration in the relevant division of the
Register (maternal & child health applicants must also
demonstrate midwifery notation); and be currently practicing or
seeking employment in the Victorian public health sector.
It is not a requirement that students be enrolled at the time of
submitting the application for scholarship funding however it is
necessary to provide details of pending enrolment.
All courses must provide an award qualification by a university.
Preference will be given to students undertaking graduate
certificate level studies. Master level studies must be clinically
based and will be considered on a case by case basis. Students
applying for a nurse practitioner scholarship must be undertaking a
clinical masters program, a nurse practitioner masters, a
therapeutic medication management module or equivalent units of
study for nurse practitioner preparation.
Applications from students who have been able to secure a
Commonwealth Supported Place (previously known as HECS funding)
will be considered on an individual basis, however preference will
be given to students in full fee paying places.
Students who currently hold an award qualification in the
specialty area of practice for which the scholarship is being
sought are ineligible.
