Kylie Moon: Director - Nursing Workforce Development (maternity leave until March 2011)

 

Kylie has worked in a multitude of nursing roles throughout the Royal Children’s Hospital since 1995.   Kylie has worked in clinical, patient co-ordination, project management, nurse management and clinical operation roles before commencing her role in the Mackinnon Department in November 2008.   Kylie has led many new and exciting change initiatives throughout the RCH and has been extensively involved with design and planning for the new hospital.   Kylie is extremely passionate about the growth and advancement of the nursing profession.  Kylie provides strategic leadership for the Nursing Education Team and ensures that opportunities are available to support nurses to continuously develop and improve their nursing practice.

Kylie is a member of the Nursing Executive in which she contributes to the broader nursing agenda for the RCH.

Sally Hicks: Nursing Development Consultant

 

Sally has a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing and has completed a Masters of Nursing Science. She has worked in a number of clinical, education and facilitation roles and has contributed in a variety of ways to research and other projects. In October 2007 Sally commenced as the Advancing and Building Change (ABC) Project Research Associate. The ABC Project is a three year action based research project funded by the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. The aims of the project are to promote an effective workplace culture and to create clinical cultures that are able to embrace and sustain research activity. More recently Sally has taken on the role of Nursing Development Lead to support nurses in developing and utilising their knowledge and expertise to identify what is working, what is not, and how to go about introducing change where change is needed.

Patricia Josipovic: Manager CNE/CNF

 

Patricia has worked at a variety of tertiary institutions including Deakin, Victoria University, RMIT, and Queensland University of Technology in post graduate, undergraduate and TAFE sectors since 1989.

Patricia’s most recent tertiary appointment was as Head of School at Victoria University School of Health where she managed seven programs across five campuses.

Patricia has also maintained her clinical practice by working shifts in acute care and has been a Director of Nursing in an Aged Care facility. She also has experience in community care organisations.

Patricia holds qualifications ranging from certificate right though to Masters. She has completed a Masters’ of Education by research at the University of Melbourne.  Now that her children are older, she hopes to commence her Phd at University of Melbourne in 2010. She has been involved in multiple projects and publications, in particular around education and CALD health care.

Raelene McIntyre: Administration Supervisor

 
  Responsibilities include:
  • Personal Assistant to the Director - Nursing Workforce Development
  • Assist in facilitating clinical placements for Undergraduate  program students
  • Admin support to the Continuing Education Stream
  • Management of the Centre's webpages
  • Bringing Nurses Back into the Workforce applications and reimbursements
  • Responsible for monitoring the Centre's room bookings

Danielle Mee: Nursing Development Associate

 

Danielle Mee has been working in a clinical capacity at the Royal Children’s Hospital over the past five years and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Nursing. In 2008 she joined the Mackinnon Centre team in a part-time Project Associate role. Danielle has participated as a facilitator in the Model Ward Project on the 4th floor, collaborating with other members of the Mackinnon Centre, Redesign and Nursing teams. Danielle is employed as a Nursing Development Associate, working closely along side Sally Hicks to launch the Essentials of Care Program.

Beth Sadler: Transition Program Educator

 

Beth has worked at The Royal Children's Hospital over the last six years. She has experience working in a variety of clinical areas, including Orthopaedics and Paediatric Intensive Care. Beth also worked as a Clinical Nurse Consultant with the Children’s Pain Management Service for two years. She has been actively involved in education throughout the hospital, including teaching, facilitation and participation on the education committee.

Employed into her current role as Transition program Educator in 2009, Beth is involved in the coordination and education for the Graduate Nurse Program, Career Advancement Year, Recognition of the Unwell Child Workshop and Paediatric Foundation Program.

Priscilla Stephenson: Project Officer

 

Priscilla has worked at the RCH since 2007 following returning from overseas where she worked as a nurse in the UK and the USA for seven years. Prior to starting at Mackinnon she worked in the Paediatric ICU and was employed as the PICU Care Manager in 2008.  Priscilla joined the Mackinnon team in September 2009 to work on the Undergraduate Nurse Program Project and will continue on as the Undergraduate Nurse Liaison to set up the new role and establish the new Undergraduate Nurse Program for 2010.

Claire Stewart: Transition Program Educator (maternity leave until July 2010)

 

Claire has worked at RCH since 1992 in a number of clinical departments and in a variety of roles.  Claire has also worked in nursing research, facilitation and project roles both in RCH and RCHI. Claire has a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics and ENB 415 in Paediatric Intensive Care.  In May 2009 Claire was employed to support the Graduate Nurses in the Program during the interim period until a Program Lead is appointed.

Rebecca Thornton: Transition Program Educator

 

Bec began nursing at RCH in 2001 and has worked across a variety of clinical settings. Bec has worked in a range of education roles and is currently one of the Transition Program Educators, responsible for the co-ordination and content delivery within the Graduate Nurse Program and Career Advancement Year as well as short courses such as the Recognition of the Unwell Child Workshop and Paediatric Foundation Program. Bec is also seconded to the University of Melbourne in a part time position, co-ordinating the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Practice (Paediatric Stream).
