About us

  • LOFT

Founded in 1921, The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) nurses association League of Former Trainees and Associates (LOFT), aims to provide and maintain the close relationship between its members and the hospital, and support improved outcomes for our patients.

Membership is available to any past or current nurse who has worked or undergone general, graduate or post graduate education at the RCH.

Membership fees are minimal which cover the cost of the newsletter and administrative fees.

    What LOFT does

Helps today’s generation of RCH nurses by raising money to fund their research and reach their goals

    • Provides the annual Elizabeth Fearon scholarship for nursing research into improving outcomes for paediatric patients
    • Money is raised through donations and committee fundraising activities

Enables nurses to catch up with their colleagues over lunch in May each year

    • Annual member’s lunch and AGM is held every year on the 3rd Saturday of May at the RACV Club in Melbourne
    • LOFT can facilitate reunions of training groups, graduate program or wards

    Keeps you in touch

    • The annual newsletter provides updates on past and current members, nursing activities at the RCH, planned events and archival material

Keeps the stories and memories of what it is like to be part of the RCH nursing alive
