Clinical Guidelines
Clinical Practice Guidelines Portal
- The Portal was developed to help clinicians and policy-makers access Australian evidence-based clinical
practice guidelines through a single entry point. Over 1600 documents have already been assessed, and 359 fit
the criteria for inclusion as a clinical practice guideline on this portal to date. Sourcing and assessment of
guidelines is now an ongoing process as new clinical practice guidelines are published in Australia. The Portal
also includes a 'Guidelines in Development Register' that contains information about clinical practice
guidelines in development in Australia. It has been designed to help reduce duplication of guidelines and to
allow guideline developers to collaborate with other developers in common areas of interest. It is now a
requirement for guideline developers intending to seek NHMRC approval to list their guideline on this Register
prior to commencement.
