About LARCH

LARCH is the Leukaemia Auxiliary of the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

LARCH was formed in 1974 and is made up of parents and friends of children suffering from leukaemia or other childhood cancers.

LARCH raises funds for research support and education and has no administrative costs. All money raised by LARCH goes directly to carrying out the aims of the auxiliary.

The aims of L.A.R.C.H.

  • To raise funds to be used directly in the field of research and especially for the employment of qualified research person to work with the Department of the Clinical Haematology and Oncology of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
  • To raise funds for family counselling to be set up in accordance with those measures generally suggested by the medical persons associated with the Royal Children’s Hospital.
  • To offer comfort, advice & assistance on a personal level wherever necessary or possible to the families directly involved, this being done under the direction of the Haematology Medical Social Workers.
