Eczema Education Program for General Practitioners and Practice Nurses

  • Did you know that eczema is the most common skin condition in childhood and it affects about 30% of children in Australia?
  • Did you know that eczema is more costly and stressful and also reduces quality of life more than asthma and insulin dependant diabetes?
  • Do you know how to manage eczema effectively?
  • Do you know what topical treatments to prescribe and where and how often they should be applied?

If you answered no to any of these questions the General Practitioner and Practice Nurse Eczema Education presented by The Royal Children's Hospital, Dermatology Department may be for YOU!

The Eczema Education Program will be given by an interactive presentation on Eczema and its treatments and then followed up by a clinic with eczema patients to consolidate your knowledge base. 40 ALM Cat points will be available for GP attendees. We are exploring Practice Nurse accreditation also.

Ideal for those wanting to up-skill in a specific area, the CAP & PD offers a multi-disciplinary approach to learning and are designed to offer students flexibility and an opportunity to either complete an unassessed course, or trial an assessed course before committing to further study. Successful completion of a CAP subject can be credited to the Graduate Diploma/Certificate in Adolescent Health & Welfare.  The CAP & PD courses are available on-campus or via distance education, with the latter offering flexibility to study as time permits.
