Project Progress

2001
   Small-scale pilot studies conducted in Victoria and Washington.

2002
   Students recruited and surveyed in Victoria and Washington.
   A parent or guardian of each student completed a telephone interview.
   A school administrator at each school completed a School Administrator Survey.

2003
  
Students completed the 2nd annual student survey at school.
   School administrators at schools attended by students to completed a mail Survey.

2004
  
Students completed the 3rd annual student survey at school.
   School administrators at schools attended by students completed a mail Survey.

2005
 
The project took a break from surveying students and schools.

2006
 
The Victorian arm of the project received funding to survey the youngest group of Victorian students for the next 2 years: 2006 and 2007.

2007
 
The Victorian arm of the project is continuing to survey the youngest group of participants in the study. Most of these young people are still attending school and are now in year 10.

2008
 The Victorian arm of the project received further funding to continue surveying the youngest group of Victorian students for another 2 years: 2008 and again in 2010.

2009
 The Victorian arm of the project received funding to locate and contact all past Victorian participants from the middle and oldest groups.   These past participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about what they have been doing since completing school.
