The Infection Control team is a shared service between The Royal Children's Hospital and The Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne.
We are a multidisciplinary department of medical and nursing staff, supported by the Department of Microbiology. We are responsible for the prevention and monitoring of hospital acquired infections by education, surveillance and development of relevant policies and procedures.
Our Vision
To be the center of excellence in Infection Control for Women, Children, Newborns, Healthcare Workers and the Community for the State of Victoria.
Our Mission
To minimize the risk of infection related to healthcare by providing evidence based preventative and management strategies for infection control.
