About Immunology

Immunology provides a comprehensive range of tests for the diagnosis of immune deficiency, autoimmunity and atopy

Services

The Immunology laboratory is a referral centre for Victoria and Tasmania for the following tests:

  • Evaluation of immune function including neutrophil function, lymphocyte function and phenotyping.
  • Measurement of specific IgG response to Tetanus, Haemophilus type B and Streptococcus Pneumoniae Vaccination.
  • Allergy testing, including total IgE and specific IgE to 51 allergens. 
  • Measurement of serum IgG subclass levels and IgD.
  • Diagnostic assays for investigation of autoimmune disorders.

Clinical services are available through the Clinical Allergy Immunology Department at RCH
