Gastehouse Project

Resources

Gatehouse Project materials

  • Gatehouse Team Guidelines for Whole School Change (PDF 375 KB); five-stage process to examine policies, programs and practices in the school, and address identified issues within a whole school approach
  • Gatehouse Teaching Resources for Emotional Well-being (PDF 475 KB); curriculum materials designed to accompany the team guidelines. The Resources use both environment-focused and individual-focused approaches, assisting teachers to explore teaching and learning strategies that develop positive classroom climates, and assist young people in dealing with difficult feelings and situations.

Student survey questionnaires

The student survey questions are available for use by researchers and practitioners.  We request that you acknowledge their source, citing the Gatehouse Project and this website.

Doing it Differently

The transition from primary to secondary school marks a difficult time for students in many school communities. Doing it Differently (DiD) developed and evaluated a model to improve the engagement of young people and their families with school during years 5,6,7 and 8:

DOING IT DIFFERENTLY: improving young people’s engagement with school

This document outlines DiD and explores the evidence and experience behind the approach.
