Meeting dates

PLEASE NOTE:

Not all applications will require review by the Full HREC. An expedited review process is undertaken for many projects. For more information please see the Risk Assessment Page

Please endeavour to have all Information Statements reviewed by the  Plain Language Advisor (PLA) before submission. The PLA is in the Ethics Office on Mondays and Tuesdays. When determining your timelines for submission please allow at least 2 weeks for the PLA review process.

Human Research (non drug/device) is sent out for scientific review to an Expert Reviewer(s) once submitted. As such researchers do not need to adhere to a deadline. Please allow at least 3 weeks for this initial review process.

The Drug Trial Subcommittee (DTS) deadlines and meeting dates are below.

The HREC meeting dates are below, however if a project requires HREC review then researchers will be informed by Ethics & Research of the appropriate HREC deadline (which is 2 weeks before the meeting). In most cases a project being reviewed by the DTS will go to HREC the following month (i.e. the DTS on 1 March 2010 then HREC 12th April 2010) however projects which are complete and scientifically valid may be fast-tracked to the HREC meeting the following week.
