WebQuiz

  • Do you have a wide range of assessment and online learning needs?
  • Do you have staff tied up full-time with marking papers?
  • Is accreditation looming?

Well perhaps we can help.  Our web team at the Educational Resource Centre (ERC), Royal Children's Hospital has developed 'WebQuiz' - an online assessment and learning tool to allow assessment of staff via the web.

At The Royal Children's Hospital we had lots of online learning and assessment needs - ranging from simple learning retention tests to robust clinical competency assessment.  We analysed the online testing market place but couldn't find a product that met our high expectations, so we built it ourselves.

Now you can take advantage of all our hard work. Read on to find out more about WebQuiz.

You are in control

As you are the expert, we give you full control to add and modify questions and answers to your tailor made quiz.

Administrators can manage all aspects of their WebQuiz account, including questions, answers as well as users.

WebQuiz question delivery

Questions can be delivered in a consistent order for all users, or they can be randomised to increase the efficacy of assessment.

Questions can be chosen from a large pool so that each time a user takes a test, they will see different questions, in a different order. A mixture of linear and randomised question delivery is also available.

To further increase the robustness of assessment, the answer candidates can also be randomised from a larger pool.

All this means that it is virtually impossible for any two users to take the exact same test, protecting your online assessment from users who might want to print out their results to share with others.

Questions can contain links to documents, audio and video. All questions have support for help information and correct/incorrect feedback to the user.

Reports

No more manual marking of paper based quizzes. As an administrator, you will have access to reporting of all participants. You can see how many attempts a user has had and the score, date and time for each attempt. This allows you to establish which users are struggling with the assessment.

You can view results by Department or your own custom categories. When grouping results by Department, you can also add additional grouping criteria to consolidate staff who might work across departments, such as Junior Medical Staff.

Statistics on questions and responses are also available to help you diagnose problems. For example, if a question was ambiguous then you will see that the majority of users answered incorrectly.

Automated re-testing

When users register for your WebQuiz, the date is recorded. You can set an interval that users should be retested at for instance 6 or 12 months. When this interval is reached, the users results will be automatically reset and an email will be sent to the user asking to take the WebQuiz again.

Results for all time intervals are recorded.

How do I set up an account with WebQuiz?

Anyone can have a WebQuiz account set up. We provide online assessment services to both RCH and the wider community.

Contact Adam Leadoux (93454955 or adam.leadoux@rch.org.au) to discuss your online assessment needs.

Are there any costs to set up a WebQuiz?

Yes. Access to WebQuiz is based on an annual subscription model and the complexity of your needs. Please contact Adam Leadoux on 93454955 to discuss your requirements and to request a no obligation quote.

WebQuiz is of course free for users taking your online assessment.
