Medical Education
The ED is accredited for training by the College of Emergency Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians. Registrars and JRMO's are rotated to the emergency department for experience, education and training in paediatric emergencies. There is a regular training program conducted in the ED for a half day each Wednesday morning for Registrars.

The ED also coordinates the hospital Advanced Paediatric Life Support program. PLS courses and APLS courses are run at RCH every few months. These courses are attended by nursing and medical staff from many different hospital departments. The majority of the faculty for these courses is drawn from the ED staff.
