These resources have been developed to support the education and wellbeing of students with orthopaedic conditions, and to assist their teachers and their schools.

The project was led and co-sponsored by the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH) Education Institute. It was also funded by grants from the Kimberley Foundation and the Transport Accident Commission Victoria (TAC) – Community Disability Support Program, with printing supplied by Aviva and Fuji Xerox Australia.

An advisory team supported the evolution of this resource and key stakeholders represented:

  • Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), Student Wellbeing Branch
  • Strathmore Secondary College
  • RCH Orthopaedic Team
  • TAC Child and Youth Services
  • RCH Education Institute.

Many staff at the RCH Education Institute, the RCH orthopaedic multidisciplinary team and a range of professionals and community organisations also made valuable contributions.

Names used in the document have been changed to protect the identity and privacy of individual children and young people.
