About the Education Institute

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Education Institute is committed to ensuring continuity of learning and ongoing connectedness to school for children and young people. We aim to build the knowledge base of health and education professionals and the broader community through a strong research agenda, a comprehensive professional learning program and targeted education support services for children and young people and their families.

The RCH Education Institute works in partnership with RCH departments and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

Our Research

Research evidence demonstrating the strong links between health and education as critical to children and young peoples longer term outcomes drives the RCH Education Institutes research agenda.

The recently-formed RCH Education Institute Research Unit is currently focusing on the following themes and projects:

Education and Learning (research)

School transitions (research)

Communication across the school-home-community spectrum (research)

Health and wellbeing (research)

Postgraduate student research projects (research)
