About Early Childhood Connections

The Centre for Community Child Health (CCCH) has been at the forefront of Australian research into early childhood development and behaviour for over two decades.

CCCH conducts research into the many conditions and common problems faced by children, such as obesity, language and literacy delay, and behavioural concerns, that are either preventable or can be improved if recognised and managed early.

A particular focus of CCCH's work is supporting and strengthening community-based professionals and organisations in their work with families to bring about the best outcomes for children.

There has been a partnership and collaborative approach to supporting early childhood professionals between the Centre for Community Child Health and Johnson and Johnson Pacific Propriety Limited and for over ten years. This partnership has allowed the development and distribution of a range of resource materials that have been successful in supporting child care services and other early childhood professionals in their work with young children and their families.

The partnership with Johnson and Johnson has allowed the Centre to continue to make a major commitment to the translation of this research evidence and the dissemination of these findings to inform public policy and clinical practice, particularly for those professionals involved in the delivery of child care services, thus closing the gap between what we know and what we do.

Specifically, the relationship formed has enabled the development and distribution of the Childcare and children's health publication (a newsletter publication for professionals working in the child care sector); sets of posters depicting different aspects of child development and the contribution different carers make to a child's life; and, the development and maintenance of this website for professionals and parents (www.ecconnections.com.au)

We welcome you to this site and trust you will find resources and information of interest.
