About Core Laboratory
The Core Laboratory specialises in "fast turnaround time" pathology testing required for the management of critically ill patients and those needing immediate attention. A Core Laboratory is situated at both RCH and RWH, and both laboratories are staffed 24 hours a day by multi-skilled scientists
Integral to the Core Laboratory is a Centralised Specimen Reception (CSR) where all patient samples, including those destined for other Laboratory Services laboratories (except Anatomical Pathology), are received and despatched
