RCH Clinical Practice Guidelines on your iPhone and PDA
By popular request, these guidelines are now available for free download and use on the iPhone & Blackberry.
They can also be used on most other PDAs and smart phones running windows mobile, palm, pocket PC, symbian or Android systems.
To view them you need a program called iSilo.
It is available for the iPhone as an application at the iTunes Store (just search for iSilo). For other devices go to: http://store.isilo.com
To use them
- Buy and download iSilo
- Connect to a wireless network with your iPhone/iPad
- Open iSilo
- Click on the ... Icon (top right of screen)
- Click download
- Put this URL in the box http://www.rch.org.au/clinicalguide/isilo/RCH_CPG_color.pdb
- Click done
- Click which folder you want it saved in on your device (eg downloads)
- Click save
Remember - the downloaded version of the guidelines file will expire after 3 months to encourage you to keep it up to date.
The iPhone experience of the CPGs is still a little clunky but we are working on optimising them. You can't really complain - they are free.
We are also looking at an iPhone optimised version of the live site - yes you can view the site live on your iPhone.
Try the Kawasaki Guideline as a test: http://www.rch.org.au/clinicalguide/cpg.cfm?doc_id=5218.
Click on the images and you will see how nicely it can work.
Feedback about all this is very welcome but we can't provide you with any technical support!

- Word documents
- Any information supplied as a MS Word document is not available in the PDA version. A link will be supplied for the Word document.
