Reliever medication

     You must specify a reliever medication and dose

Dose of prednisolone for acute exacerbations
If you enter no prednisolone details then the entire section will be omitted from the printed plan.
It is generally recommended that the family commence prednisolone for acute episodes which do not respond to bronchodilator alone - approx 1mg/kg daily, rounded to nearest convenient dose in mls or halves of 25mg tabs, max dose 50mg

Prednisolone Select dose 5mg (1ml of mixture) 10mg (2mls of mixture) 15mg (3mls of mixture) 20mg (4mls of mixture) 25mg (5mls ofmixture) 30mg (6mls of mixture) 35mg (7mls of mixture) 12.5mg (half 25mg tab) 25mg (one 25mg tab) 37.5mg (one & half 25mg tab) 50mg (two 25mg tabs) mg daily for 3 days.

Current Episode

• Take your reliever as often as required until symptoms settle.
• See your doctor or return to hospital if symptoms are getting worse or not settling. 
• Remember to continue your usual dose of preventer medication if you have one.
  
  
• Take the prescribed dose of prednisolone select duration for the next 1 day for the next 2 days for the next 3 days for the next 4 days

You should print 3 copies of the generated action plan - one for the family, one for the notes, and one for the GP.
