The Centre for International Child Health (CICH) was established in 2001 within the University of Melbourne's Department of Paediatrics at the Royal Children's Hospital. CICH is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Research & Training in Child & Neonatal Health.

CICH's core aims are to address the inequity in global child mortality, to assist countries to achieve their Millennium Development Goals in child health, and to develop strong child health systems. To do this we focus on the following approaches:
Strengthening local child health institutions in the region, and supporting clinical, research and leadership capacity among paediatricians and other child health professionals
