  • To build organisational and professional capacity to respond to community needs in a manner that is ethical, effective, efficient and cost-effective.
  • To improve partnerships and linkages between the Primary Care and Specialist Services
  • To assist in the delivery of education and training to health professionals.

Education & Training Service

CEED offers foundation training in eating disorders management for mental health clinicians through the State-wide Mental Health Education and Training (Cluster) Program.

CEED undertakes ongoing assessment of service training needs. As a major priority CEED will be developing training modules specifically for adult and child and adolescent mental health services in recognition of developmental needs of clients.

CEED conducts advanced training for mental health clinicians treating eating disorders. For more information about CEED education and training and other professional education in eating disorders visit the CEED website.

CEED can develop and provide in-service training to meet local service needs.

Service Development & Tertiary Consultation

CEED can provide tertiary consultation to specialist eating disorder, AMH and CAMH services to support their local delivery of effective treatment and service responses. Development of    Peer Group Supervision Programs for mental health service clinicians working with eating disordered clients is part of the service offered by CEED.

Who can request consultation?

CEED can support Victoria's Mental Health Services and clinicians who are working with clients who have an eating disorder. Assistance can include:

  • clarifying diagnostic issues
  • assessment of a client: considering physical and psychological risk and priorities
  • treatment planning
  • working with a wider treatment system
  • treatment access and local referral pathways
  • case review.

The Consultation Service is available from 9.00am — 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Consultation can be provided via the telephone, face-to-face via site visits, or via Telepsychiatry when appropriate.
