Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics Unit (CEBU)

Data Services

CEBU provides a service to assist researchers in developing questionnaires, creating databases and performing data entry. We design databases that increase data accuracy at the data entry stage.
 
The CEBU Data Services include the following:

• Advice on questionnaire design.  We strongly advise you to show us your proforma prior to beginning data collection.
• Creation of coding sheets (coding sheets include names, descriptions and coding rules for each variable; these are invaluable in creating a database and for subsequent analyses).
• Creation of databases.
• Data entry.
• A list of data queries, outliers, anomalies and inconsistencies; this is part of the data cleaning process that should take place prior to doing any analysis.
• Exporting of data to your preferred statistical package.

For larger jobs we can also produce regular reports of the data entered.
