The Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) is jointly supported by the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and the University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics to provide training, advice and support in research design and analysis to researchers on the Royal Childrens Hospital campus.
CEBU can provide advice on all aspects of the design, analysis and presentation of results of studies addressing issues in child and adolescent health based at the Royal Children's Hospital. Advice and, in some cases, practical assistance with establishing databases and performing analysis, is provided free of charge to the extent possible within available resources, although we request that researchers seeking external funding for projects involving substantial input from us should include a provision for funds to cover our costs. For information please refer to the following links:
We can also provide software advice and help with the preferred statistical packages we use.
Requests for meetings should be directed through the CEBU secretary on 9345 6368 or email Donna De Sair (donna.desair@mcri.edu.au). You will be required to complete an Initial Meeting Form requesting information about your project and / or enquiry.
If you are submitting an application to the RCH Ethics in Human Research Committee and have had at least one formal consultation with CEBU in relation to this project, please complete the Project Review Form and submit this with your application.
