Parenting information

  • Raising Children Network parenting website is launched: A landmark Australian website for parents and carers, which provides expert, impartial information on raising children from newborns to eight years of age.

Products / Publications

  • Policy Brief No 7 ‘Overweight and obesity in childhood’
  • Practice Resources - 11 Practice Resources are now available. These Practice Resources will help professionals consider and understand the issues and the range of researched options and strategies available to discuss with parents and carers in addressing their concerns and increasing their confidence. Each Practice Resource provides professionals with:
    • an introduction to the topic
    • a summary of the latest research, and
    • practical strategies to support their daily work with young children and their families.  
  • Informed Families program
  • Parents' Evaluation of Developmental Status (PEDS). PEDS is a methodology for detecting developmental and behavioural problems in children from birth to eight years of age. This methodology involves asking parents to complete a ten-item questionnaire, which takes only a few minutes.
