Mirror Image Dextrocardia
In this situation the heart is arranged in the reverse manner to that which usually applies. It is situated in the right side of the chest and the connections are the opposite way round to normal (hence 'Mirror Image'). Almost always this is associated with similar reversal of other body organs including abdominal structures (e.g. the appendix is on the wrong side, etc).
A wide range of heart abnormalities can occur, but in many cases the heart is completely 'normal' (despite being the wrong way round).
