2000 Stories  2000 Stories is a long-term study of the health of 2000 Victorian students who were in Year 9 in 1992
The Adolescent Health and Social Environments Program

We are creating an integrated program of research, practice and policy to provide a better understanding of how changes in social environments affect the health and wellbeing of young people.

The AHSEP web pages are currently being reviewed. When completed, they will be available on the Gatehouse Project website at www.gatehouseproject.com

The Adolescent Resilience Questionnaire  The development of a new measure of adolescent resilience, identifying strengths within the adolescent, their family, peer-group, school and community.
The Australian Temperament Project - Adolescent and Young Adult Follow-up  This stage of the Australian Temperament Project aims to examine patterns of behaviour through adolescence and young adulthood and relate these to characteristics in infancy and childhood. 
Behaviour Exchange Systems Training
(BEST PLUS) 
The BEST Plus program is researching an intervention designed to reduce youth drug use and other challenging behaviours through assistance to parents and siblings.
Beyondblue schools research initiative  Improving the mental health of young people through school-based programs & strategies
Communities that Care Australia  Communities That Care is a facilitated process that uses community training and technical resources to promote the healthy development of children and young people.
HOWRU Survey

Victorian Adolescent Health and Wellbeing Survey (HOWRU).
This project provides information on the health, safety, learning, development and wellbeing of Victoria's young people.

International Youth Development Study  The International Youth Development Study (IYDS) is a long-term study that looks at the development of healthy and problem behaviours among young people in the state of Victoria, Australia and the state of Washington, United States.
The Gatehouse Project The Gatehouse Project focussed on promoting student connectedness to school and demonstrated a reduction in health risk behaviours for young people as well as system level changes within schools.
Healthy Neighborhoods Project Neighbourhood differences in adolescent health and behaviour problems.
Medical Maturity An assessment of clinicians' methods for judging competence in young people
Mobile Tracking of Young People's Experiences (Mobile_TYPE) Mobile phones are used to monitor the day-to-day experiences of young people.
Optimising Pathways  Self-management and health care transitions for young people with a chronic condition.
Psychosocial Screening in Inpatient Adolescents  The development and clinical utility of the Adolescent Screening Questionnaire (ASQ) in identifying psychosocial concerns in adolescent inpatients
Resilient Families Study  Resilient Families is a research project investigating the potential to enhance student health and educational outcomes by working with families though the early secondary school years.
Success Despite Learning Difficulties This project pilots a resilience program for students who have learning disabilities that has been adapted for use in primary school and for optimum embedding into schools.
Twenty-eight up: the life course outcomes of adolescents with depressive disorder  Understanding how depressive symptoms in adolescence may predict life circumstances in young adulthood.
Wellbeing through Integrated Learning and Development (WILD) The WILD project is about using new ways of building good mental and emotional health in young people.
