for young people

Being an adolescent between the ages of 12 to 18 can be both an exciting and confusing time in your life. There are many changes occurring all at the same time: Changes with puberty and body image, social changes, family changes and also with school or work.

Each young person will be different in their health needs, and mental health is connected to physical health so often it can be useful to have a health care professional to talk with.

It is important that you start to know how and where to find out information about your health care. A good place to start is to see your GP. Remember you can ask to see your doctor by yourself if there are health issues you want to talk about separate to your parents.

There are many health and community services available for young people.
