Between 1 May and 31 July 2009 data was collected for 261, 203 Australian children as part of the national implementation of the AEDI. Following national data collection, AEDI results will be available from December 2009. The results will provide communities with a snapshot of the development of their children across five key areas of early childhood development.
The first release of results are presented as AEDI maps (available from December) and Community Profiles ( available from March 2010) . To view the AEDI maps for local communities from this site, you will need Adobe Flash Player 10.
A Snapshot of Early Childhood Development in Australia – AEDI National Report 2009 will also be available from December. The report will provide the first national snapshot of early childhood development in Australia.
Keep an eye on the AEDI website in December for more details.
The AEDI pilot project results from 2004-08 are currently being re-formatted in a new template. In March 2010, you will be able to view 04-08 results in the new interactive mapping format. In the meantime, if you would like to view these results, please contact the AEDI National Support Centre at australian.edi@rch.org.au
