The Department of Allergy and Immunology provides a range of quality training programs on The Prevention and Management of Anaphylaxis. These sessions are delivered by highly qualified and experienced staff.
The Department of Allergy and Immunology is now able to deliver accredited training in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis, under a partnership agreement with Australian Red Cross (RTO no. 3605).
This course meets the accredited training requirements of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) for staff working in schools and children services.
To be deemed as competent for this course, participants need to participate in assessment tasks during the session on, EpiPen® administration, completing series of questions and a risk assessment activity.
Approximately 3.0 hours
Maximum group number for our training session is 20 participants.
A statement of attainment will be issued on successful completion of the course and assessment tasks. This course is valid for 3 years. Statement of Attainment will be issued under (RTO no. 3605). This program is a Nationally Recognised Training Course with the Australian Qualification Framework.

Training is being held in the Board Room which is situated on the fifth floor, the front building of the hospital. On entering through the main entrance turn right and take the silver lifts up to the fifth floor. The Board Room is directly opposite the lift.

The Department is committed to supporting families of children that have been diagnosed with allergies and or anaphylaxis. We are committed to providing current information and knowledge to assist families better understand their child's condition. We are offering education sessions that will inform and empower families.
These sessions are open to:
