The Adolescent Forensic Health Service (AFHS) provides specialist adolescent forensic assessment and clinical counseling services to young people on  deferral of sentence, community based orders, custodial sentences and to young people exiting custodial institutions on parole.

Young people are referred for assessment and counseling for a range of issues such as anti-social behaviours (anger regulation, violence prevention, offending), substance misuse, mental health concerns, dual diagnostic presentations, grief and loss, and family and interpersonal issues.

Clinicians provide quality evidence-based interventions, across a mix individual, group and family therapy modalities. Psychiatric care is also offered and young people can receive a thorough psychiatric assessment by forensic child and adolescent psychiatrists on a needs basis via referral from the other health professionals at AFHS.
